[Update: a more complete resource gives me the impression that maybe they're rough-skinned newts that live here. I always get things a little bit wrong from small handbooks, but my interest is too casual to shell out a lot of currency for all of the serious and detailed identification guides I'd need to serve you properly, O hypothetical web reader person.]
