a - Jerusalem in b&wWhen working in Israel, shortly before the recent troubles began, my mission was to produce a photojournalistic account of the most Orthodox part of Jerusalem: Meah Shearim. In this tightly-knit community people struggle to balance encroaching modernity with a world of old values and traditions. With these images I feel proud to be able to capture this contrast while focusing on the real people in their real lives making a real episode in time, never to be repeated. |
